Microchipping in Cumming

A microchip is a passive electronic device roughly the size of a grain of rice. We use a needle to place it just beneath the skin between your pet’s shoulder blades — no anesthesia, no sedation, no incision. The whole process takes only a few seconds and causes about as much discomfort as a routine injection. Most pets don’t react at all.

Each chip carries a unique numeric code that’s linked to your contact information in a national registry. If a lost pet arrives at a shelter or veterinary clinic, a staff member can scan for the chip, retrieve that code, search the database, and reach you directly. It’s worth noting that microchips don’t function like GPS trackers. They have no battery, don’t broadcast a signal, and can only be read when a scanner is passed directly over the chip.
